ZIBADIANJA Camp in the Selinda Reserve, Botswana, has converted to a solar-energy supply to generate all of the camp’s energy needs.
“Currently, electricity consumed by the camp at night is fully replenished by the solar farm by 3pm the following day – even though some of the days have been a little cloudy, so there is ample energy in reserve."
Zibadianja Camp is a member of Great Plains Conservation. Says Great Plains CEO Colin Bell, “Not only will our guests be able to reap true peace and quiet now that the generator has been decommissioned, but generators of this type push out over 550kgs of Carbon Dioxide an hour so Zibadianja’s carbon footprint has been hugely reduced!”
