ZIMBABWE Sun, the country's largest hotel chain, has entered into an exclusive strategic alliance with Shearwater Adventures, one of the country's leading suppliers of adventure activities to the tourist market. The move is aimed at encouraging tourists to Zimbabwe to stay longer and spend more by packaging the experience of activities and hotels together. Says Zim Sun's ceo, Shingi Munyeza: "With our infrastructure already in place, ZimSun plans to enhance the experience of the tourist visiting Zimbabwe. We will now be able to do this with the new alliance and at the same time, see an easy flow of tourists between Vic Falls, Hwange and Kariba without depending on air traffic." Shearwater Adventures offers a variety of activities in the Vic Falls such as helicopter flips, white water rafting, river boarding, elephant back safaris and jet boat adventures. "This alliance is a huge win-win scenario and is something which is going to be a significant factor in our tourism recovery," said Shearwater Adventures md, Allan Roberts. (Miguel de Sousa)
